There’s nothing quite like our kaleidoscope of over 125,000 ft2 of floral color! Eurosa tours take you behind the scenes— from award-winning roses to peppers to packaging. Our tours are both educational and fun. Our expert tour guides tailor each tour to their audience and with their wealth of knowledge you are guaranteed to leave with a deeper understanding of the greenhousing industry.
The tour is divided into four educational components covering all areas of the greenhouse involved in the day-to-day experience of producing flowers and vegetables. These areas include all the products grown at Eurosa Farms:
Roses, Gerberas
Alstroemerias, Snapdragons
Peppers, Tomatoes, Cucumbers
Grading and Packaging
Visitors will be introduced to the beautiful rose varieties carried by Eurosa Farms. The tour will include growing roses hydroponically, basic care and pruning, all designed to produce a beautiful single long stem rose. We will also share trade secrets for timing rose plants to produce specifically for high seasons such as Valentines Day. Guests will learn florist tips such as how to purchase the best product and how to care for your roses in your home for maximum life. Our grower will also offer tips for success with outdoor rose plants as well.
Camera happy folks will be greeted by our never-ending sea of color, the perfect opportunity for a photo souvenir. Our grower will include methods for hydroponics and growing in the soil for the four different crops found in this section of the greenhouse. They will explain about seeding and replanting methods, plant turnover, as well as harvest methods for all varieties.
In the Pepper area of the greenhouse our grower will explain biological pest control and give tips for other natural or organic pest control options that are easy to do from your home. Here our grower will tackle topics such as natural vs. organic, vegetative vs. generative as well as dispelling the myth about green peppers. They will discuss plant size, harvest methods, plant care, and pruning and lowering of plants. They will also discuss ripening agents used in long distance transportation and what to look for when buying fresh produce.
In the Grading area visitors will be invited to share in the experience of grading for quality, sorting, packaging as well as storage and shipping. They will be introduced to the equipment used as well as methods used to maintain freshness. Our flower designers will explain designing and producing beautiful flower bouquets. This area also contains a large info area showing the growth of Eurosa Farms over the years as well as other topics such as biological pest control and hydroponics as discussed in the tours.
The tour will finish with complimentary refreshments of tea and coffee at our Farm Market. The market contains our products as well as other local crafts and treats such as soft serve ice cream. Because we are a family run business, our tour times are very flexible. The greenhouses are open year round and the weather is always perfect inside.
